Click here to order Older Pietra Dura pin, Pietra Dura is the workmanship of placing hardstone pieces cut out and finely placing them into a hardstone backround. There is a very small area on the front which may be damage or it may just be the way the piece was made. I didn't notice it until I saw the enlarged photo. It's at the top of the right green leaf. I'm not sure if the entire piece was gold washed at one time and has worn, but it looks as though certain areas are gold colored to highlight them. Beautiful lady, with enchanting, demure smile, done in the prettiest pastel, sky blue shades. Under a loupe appears to be hand painted over decal, however there is more painting over decal on this piece than I'm used to seeing. Findings date it to early 1900's. Measures 1-1/8, in excellent condition. I did take the backing off to see if the porcelain was signed and didn't see any markings. |

I bought this item thinking it was old, but upon closer examination it may be a recent work or it may have been reset into a new mounting. Regardless, it's a gorgeous piece of jewelry. It's in mint condition, and comes with a 14K gold chain that measures 24 inches. Pin/pendant measures just under 1.5 inches. |
