I purchased it several years ago from the author. The picture in the book looks like the set is blue, but the beads are white with clear rhinestones as noted in her description. Item #S195....... $120.................. SOLD sorry Deep Purple, Gorgeous, baroque style imitation pearls, rondells with the brightest rhinestones, artisan foiled beads and glass crystals. Book piece, this is the ACTUAL set used in the photograph on page110 of Roseann Ettinger's book "Popular Jewelry Forties and Fifties" (Schiffer publishing). I purchased it directly from the author. The foiled beads are fantastic, the crystals are heavily faceted. The pearls still have great luster and over all are all in great condition, obviously high quality - but two of the many pearls have wear near the bead hole. The rhinestones are bright and without any darkening and the foiled beads are like new. There is a small amount of oxidation on the metal pieces in the extender and under magification there are a few minor chips on the faceted crystals. I consider this set to be in very good condition, but as always fully disclose wear. The color is deep purple, difficult to capture in photograph. This is a breath taking set, guaranteed to bring a gasp when you receive it. I bought the bracelet directly from the author - it's on page 95 (top right) of the 2nd edition. Her description is bracelet of gilded brass in openwork pattern encrusted with blue glass stones. It's fabulous - one of the nicest pieces I've owned - bought it several years ago, kills me to sell it, but it's a teeny bit small for me, someone should enjoy it, it's meant to be worn.
